Aabenraa Mountain Marathon is held annually in Aabenraa, a town with approximately 16,000 inhabitants in Southern Denmark. The event offers races for the whole family: a 500m children's race, a 1.5km children's race, a 1.6km family mile, a 5km run and walk, a 10km run, a 21.1km half marathon, and a 42.2km marathon. Marathon runners complete two laps of the half marathon route, which is very scenic and hilly with about 250 meters of elevation gain over the 21.1 kilometers.
